Tourist season

Today is the first Saturday of tourist season.  What fun.  I am already aggravated.

This morning, at 7:55 am, I was awoken to the sound of a chainsaw.  I cannot tell you how ignorant I think that is.  The idiot who has a summer house behind mine decided it was a good idea to do some yard maintenance.  Why they couldn’t wait until a decent hour, I cannot tell you.

My small, quiet, sleepy town has now quadrupled in population.  Parking is now at a premium.  Last night, I came home from running some errands and had to park 3 blocks away.  I couldn’t even find parking on my street.  I had less problems parking when I lived in Philadelphia.

I understand that I live in a resort town and I don’t mind the tourists per se.  What I have an issue with is there complete disregard for the people who live here year round.  We have people who come down and have loud parties into the wee hours of the morning.  People who drive 15 mph below the speed limit because they are on vacation.  I could go on, but I won’t.

It’s not all bad.  Tourist season affords the locals the opportunity to meet new people from other areas, to make new friends, not to mention all of the eye candy that comes here.  🙂

What I would like to know is:  If it is Tourist season, does that mean we can shoot them?
